Here’s a work in digital pastel. Again the lovely model is Ruby, as she appears in a photo by Frank Muller.

This one began in muted tones, but gradually the colors grew so vibrant as to transform the somber scene into something dreamlike and magical. Surely there are faeries here!—and Ruby appears, at this moment, to have heard their music.

She is portrayed here by Charles William Mitchell while she was humiliated and about to be stoned to death by Christians who intended to destroy any symbol of pagan knowledge. Love the painting, love the woman.
